Tiffany Micek

LCSW

Hi there, I’m Tiffany

As a mental health practitioner, I am honored to hold space with and for others to journey through their wounds as they seek greater healing. Throughout my 10 year career as a Social Worker I have served many roles and populations, learning that it is imperative to recognize and understand the multi-faceted components of each individual and how the other intersectionalities of self and environment influence the process of one’s healing.

As a therapist I place a lot of emphasis on utilizing a holistic lens, providing psychoeducation all while leading with compassion and a lot of  grace. As a result, I have been witness to many as they transcend along their wellness journey.

I believe life is a lot like rock climbing, in that, it is necessary to have a belay person in order to guide and support one as they flee on their journey/route. Essentially, therapy can be seen as another form of rock climbing, and as a therapist, I find myself to be part of an individual’s belay team, fostering safe spaces to be ultimately vulnerable and facilitating spaces that curate healing.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a Masters of Social Work and a concentration in Mental Health received from University of Illinois Chicago. Additionally, I received a Bachelors of Science in Sociology with a minor in Latino/a Studies from the University of Illinois Champaign-Urbana. I have experience working with individuals, couples and families that experience adjustment disorders, ADHD, anxiety, anger, couples issues, eating disorders, childhood trauma, depression, imposter syndrome, family conflicts, life transitions/stressors, low self-esteem, LGBTQIA+ community/mental health, OCD, Panic Attacks, PTSD, sleep disorders, social anxiety, stress, suicidal ideations, traumatic disorders, women’s mental health, and more. Please inquire to schedule, as it would truly be an honor to be a part of your belay team!

THE LIVING PONO APPROACH

in life, Pono stands for righteousness and balance

In Hawaiian, if a person is living Pono, it means that they have struck the right balance within themselves, with other things, places, and the people in their lives.

We take that same approach when helping you to grow.
