First Responder Testimonials
“Seeking help from Living Pono was one of the best decisions I ever made. Their compassionate team has provided a place for me to work through the worst of times and confront my challenges. Through their expert guidance, I have been able to remain steady at work and at home, and recognize boundaries and personal limits. I have learned what are both effective and what are ineffective and even harmful coping strategies. I am immensely grateful for the team at Living Pono and their support on my journey towards mental well-being.”

“I didn't realize that you can laugh so much in therapy and discuss hard things! What a concept.”

You can trust this place.”

“Cindy and her team come highly trained knowing what it is like to do our job.”
“When I first started looking for a therapist my main focus was more on the side of finding help as a peer supporter. As a group and getting a peer support program started, we talked about the importance of finding someone before you needed someone.
Cindy and her facility were at the top of our list after researching different facilities in the area. Cindy and her team had years of experience in multiple different areas of therapy. For us, having the ability to connect with First Responders was a major deal breaker. While promoting “have someone before you need someone” I realized that I was not practicing what I preached. I had tried therapy before and it was over a video call rather than in person. I felt that I never connected with who I was talking to. Then, I met Cindy. When she tells you to interview a therapist to see if they are the right fit for you, believe her and take the time to find someone who understands you, the line of work you are in, and what you have been through in the past. From the moment I met Cindy, I felt like she has known me forever. She understands my job as a first responder. I never felt like I had to shy away from or leave details out when talking to her about things that happened in my line of duty or my personal life. She understood the weird hours I worked and helped schedule appointments that worked for me. As a peer supporter, I wanted a place someone could go and feel comfortable being themselves and at least have the willingness to try therapy. Cindy gives you that space. Walking through the doors the first time, I felt as though I had been there a million times before. I didn’t feel out of place for a second. Having these resources has helped me tremendously. I take the tools and knowledge I have gained and use them at work and at home. It has helped me in relationships with a significant other, family members, coworkers, and friends. For me, therapy has become something I look forward to. I enjoy being able to do small check-ins and help myself. I am grateful for the opportunity to be part of a peer support team that can help others. I am grateful that I found someone who cares about the First Responder community.”
