Sarah Hamilton

Intern

Hi there, I’m Sarah

I am currently pursuing my Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Northwestern University, scheduled to graduate in December 2024. Prior to my time at Living Pono and Northwestern, I worked in higher education for four years.

My clinical style is built on mutual trust as I aim to build connections through empathy, humor, and honesty. I embrace an acceptance and commitment approach to counseling while considering cultural and contextual awareness to foster a space of inclusivity.

I am passionate about working with adolescents, emerging adults, and individuals in times of transition. Additionally, I am passionate about working with clients who are new to therapy and aim to create a comfortable and authentic environment no matter where the client is on their mental health journey.

THE LIVING PONO APPROACH

in life, Pono stands for righteousness and balance

In Hawaiian, if a person is living Pono, it means that they have struck the right balance within themselves, with other things, places, and the people in their lives.

We take that same approach when helping you to grow.
