Lauren LaDere

LPC

Hi there, I’m Lauren

I graduated from Adler University with a dual master’s degree in Sport & Human Performance (MS) and Clinical Rehabilitation Counseling (MA). Prior to my time at Adler, I earned my undergraduate degree at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst in Psychology with a focus on social justice and advocacy work. Through my educational experiences I’ve worked as a behavioral technician with children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder, as a mental performance consultant for Benedictine University’s athletic department, and as a vocational rehabilitation counselor at Jesse Brown VA Medical Center.

People deserve to feel seen and have space to show up as their most authentic selves. I utilize CBT, ACT, and narrative therapeutic approaches to empower clients to build coping skills, acknowledge your innate power, and build momentum for positive change and growth- even when it feels just out of reach. Humor, empathy, and psychoeducation help support these approaches in session. I have experience working with adults and young adults, as well as active-duty military personnel, veterans, queer folks and communities, athletes, individuals navigating life transitions, and individuals with disability and/or chronic illness.

As well as being an LPC, I also am a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC), specializing in disability, chronic illness, and EMDR.

THE LIVING PONO APPROACH

in life, Pono stands for righteousness and balance

In Hawaiian, if a person is living Pono, it means that they have struck the right balance within themselves, with other things, places, and the people in their lives.

We take that same approach when helping you to grow.
