Kristi Kauth

LSW, MSW

Hi there, I’m Kristi

I am a Licensed Social Worker with my Master’s Degree in Social Work from Aurora University. I also hold a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a minor in Communication from Lake Forest College. I have past experience in trauma and advocacy work at the Lake County Children’s Advocacy Center, as well as working with individuals of all ages and couples.

Choosing to pursue therapy is a courageous step toward healing and growing into a more positive mindset and lifestyle. It is my goal to provide a safe and comfortable space for my clients to be their truest selves and get the most out of their therapy experience without judgment. Therapy can be whatever you want it to be, and each individual is unique in their expectations and goals – I am more than happy to meet you where you are! I rely on empathy and understanding paired with cognitive-behavioral therapy, mindfulness techniques, strength-based approaches, and other evidence-based skills to help my clients create lasting positive changes. I prioritize taking time to get to know my clients and understand their lifestyles and unique stories, creating a plan together to address your concerns.

I work with people of all ages and all different backgrounds, but my focus is on adolescents, young adults, and couples/families. I also work with a variety of issues, but I specialize in anxiety, depression, trauma, life changes, family problems, and relationship issues. If you have an issue that is not listed here or another idea in mind, please let me know and we can discuss the concern together!

Therapy can be nerve-wracking, vulnerable, and challenging, but it can also be inspiring, motivating, and fun! I truly believe that everyone can benefit from therapy, no matter the reason – it is an amazing and powerful tool to not only problem-solve and grow but to learn so much about yourself. I am dedicated to empowering individuals to overcome their mental health struggles and personal barriers to help you live how you want to live!

THE LIVING PONO APPROACH

in life, Pono stands for righteousness and balance

In Hawaiian, if a person is living Pono, it means that they have struck the right balance within themselves, with other things, places, and the people in their lives.

We take that same approach when helping you to grow.

to help you to begin Living Pono
